Choosing park furniture used to be a simple task. You just used to have a look at a few wood benches and select the right one for you. Today however there is a lot wider choice of furniture available. The furniture is made from many different types of material and comes in many colors and styles.

I suppose that this now makes the choice a little bit harder than it used to be. But having a wider choice is much more exciting than just choosing from a few wood benches in my opinion.

It is refreshing to be able to choose from a variety of styles and colors too. This means that you could choose something that fits very nicely into its surroundings.

The first choice you should consider is do you want your benches made from the traditional wood or would you like a different material construction? Do not forget that these are park benches and will be stuck outside for a long time in all conditions.

Then you can consider what style of benches you prefer to go with. The surrounding that your benches are being placed in will have a major bearing on this decision. You do not want to be buying something that will look totally out of place.

You can still go for a wood bench which used to be the only choice years ago. But it is good to have a selection of different materials to look at just in case.

We have previously stated that these benches will be stood outside in all weather conditions throughout the years. So it is preferable that you choose something that is going to need very little looking after in terms of general maintenance.

Because these benches can and will be subjected to some very harsh weather a solidly built bench could be a very good idea.
